Based between Ascot and Bracknell in Berkshire, we can either visit your home with a portable studio or shoot on location. Alternatively, you can come to us: We are within easy reach of Ascot, Sunningdale, Sunninghill, Bracknell, Crowthorne, Reading, Wokingham, Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor.

The portrait session is open to interpretation because you’ll want it to be classic, contemporary or themed. This could be glamour, fifties styled or whatever you have in mind. We’ll also make some suggestions.

A popular style is the modern beauty fashion lighting for portraits. This normally uses a beauty dish or softbox and a reflector to create catch lights or sparkles in the eyes. Normally a strong side light from the rear also lights the neck and side of the face to help slim down and glamorize the features. This style will certainly get a wow factor and give you a look very different than a typical snap shot other people will take of you.

You may prefer to consider a more classical look with a stronger lighting ratio (more contrast between lights) which makes the shot look more typical of studios 30 years ago and this style may suit black and white very well. You really don’t need to worry too much though because we will normally try different lighting styles to give you all the choice you need.

Another option is for a dramatic low key shot with very strong side lighting and very dark black shadows. This style can really suit a man very well. For women we would usually fill the shadows a bit more than for men. Either way this low key style can look pretty amazing and is a fantastic way to light a body for a tasteful semi nude shot or something a little daring.

If time is going well and you are comfortable we’ll try and get low key, mid key and high key shots for you and get all the styles show above that are in your comfort zone.
