Your Photo Session
Your photo session is important to us. It is essential you feel relaxed and safe and you have nothing to fear as we are based in a residential area in the suburbs of Bracknell. We encourage you to bring a partner or friend for moral support if that helps you to relax.
Most of the time for private sessions we'll be using our home studio, run by Peter and Angela Wilding, which is large enough for family shoots or portraits. The home studio is also ideal for children and baby sessions. We can also shoot glamour in the home studio as well as themed romantic glamour such as a fifties style from the old movies. Anything tasteful goes.
We will normally start with a coffee and a chat about what you want and show you some ideas. The most important asset any photographer has is his ability to relate to his model. Peter, John and Angela are people persons and we are confident you’ll soon begin to feel relaxed and confident about your experience and expectations.
The photographer is like a movie director in many ways so to get the right look and mood it’s not just about people skills but also about how to get an emotional response from somebody. Happy smiling faces are not always wanted and especially if you want a more glamour or sexy look.
Angela will help with posing so there’s nothing to worry about.
For example; a lot of people suit off camera eyes or looking away from the camera. Most snap shots people take are happy smiling faces direct in the camera and those smiles look terrible most the time as they say cheese rather than something to make you laugh.
You’ll hear us say something like, “More happy” or “More Sad” “Look down”. Most the time if we want a smile we’ll find a way to make that smile genuine. If we want you to look shocked for a sexy expression then you’ll hear a firework or something crazy to get that reaction. Well, maybe not a firework but you get the idea.
If you’ve done modeling before or a photo session then you’ll know what we are talking about but to be fair most people are very self conscious about having photos taken. They only do it because of the wow factor they want later when they see the finished photos.
Positive feedback from the photographer is a major factor as soon as the camera starts to click. Most photo studios shoot direct on the cameras card but we shoot direct in to a computer so you can see a large screen display immediately. We’ll do some test shots first though and then show you how things are working.
We are very confident that as soon as the first few photos are taken you’ll soon be feeling confident too. And don’t forget that we have set enough time aside to help you get fully relaxed and confident with yourself and surroundings.
Gradually you’ll be so busy and working posing and doing what we ask that you won’t have time to feel nervous. You’ll be amazed how quickly an hour passes and before you know it three hours have passed and you have hundreds of photos to choose from.
Typically we shoot around 300 photos and around 100 of those will be the ones you want. We’ll help you get that down to around 20 or less depending on what you are looking for. We will do this in the studio over a coffee and sandwiches or a bite to eat. From those 20 or so photos we’ll then work on them ready for you to make your final choices within the next few days. In some circumstances we can have the photos ready for you while you wait.
